During one of our IT daily’s right before my latest travels to South East Asia on a surf and family vacation. My team and I had a brief talk about karma. One of the guys said he didn’t believe in karma because he sees bad people getting away with things all the time. Which I agree bad people get away with things quite a bit. But, I also think his scope of karma is small. He probably thought more on individual lifetime karma instead of what I’ll call generational karma. Like wealth, karma can be inherited. You’re grandparents fought wars of freedom so you could one day be an artist. Or you’re grandparents didn’t fight that war now you have to fight it because you have artistic dreams.

The interesting thing about the concept of generational karma is it could be branched out to other related phenomenon in life. DNA could be a more concrete coded form of the effects of generational karma. Money and education can be socially constructed echoes of this. We’re standing on the shoulders of the karma giant. Our technological advancements needed the previous generation’s sacrifices. Surfing pioneers discovered and tried to keep some spots a secret but, karma has a way of letting secrets out. The most important thing about karma is we should not force anyone to believe in it. We aren’t helping anyone by force feeding knowledge. They must attain it themselves.
